Institution where the maker is. Warmth is Even Steven's job.
Tacit Source is a company, not a brand voice. It holds three things: the software that runs the registry, the registry itself — named ways of working, licensed and released — and the count, which turns hours-in-use into money owed. It does not hold the covenant, and it does not face the operator.
What Tacit Source actually holds.
The software
The registry, the release path and the count, built and tested as one system rather than three.
The registry
Named ways of working, each licensed from Even Steven's corpus and released to a machine against a published interface.
The count
Hours in use, written at the moment a person on a crew chooses whose way of working runs. The basis Even Steven pays the hand from.
Even Steven licenses the corpus to us. We license the release, onward.
Even Steven holds each hand's own agreement and licenses their admitted, built way of working into a corpus. Tacit Source takes that corpus and makes it something a maker, a kit company or a fleet owner can actually license and run — the operating corpus.
The intent, stated plainly on the covenant Even Steven publishes: a way of working is chosen by name on the morning, or it does not run at all. That is what this site describes throughout. It is a design commitment, not yet a shipped fact — see where this stands.
What it is often taken for, and is not.
It is not who a hand signs with
The operator's agreement, the covenant, the pay and the withdrawal right are Even Steven's. Tacit Source has no direct relationship with an operator.
It is not a second brand for the public
Tacit Source faces makers, kit companies and fleet owners. It is not marketed to the person in the seat, and does not appear on Even Steven's covenant pages as an alternative to it.
It is not a data broker
What Tacit Source licenses onward is named, attributed ways of working under Even Steven's consent chain — never a session, and never raw recordings of a person.
It is not independent of the patent question
Where the patents that protect the release mechanism sit — Tacit Source, Steady Eddie or elsewhere — is not yet decided. This site does not claim any patent position.
